DESCRIPTION:The second annual Penny Games: HBCU Debate + Gaming Invitational will bring together students from 16+ Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), more than 500 local high school students, and over 100 colleges, employers, and civic institutions for a strategic blend of cultural immersion, academic competition, and workforce development.\nOn Friday, October 3, students will gather at the BJCC for the Debate Finals and Leadership Breakfast, followed by the Career & Opportunity Expo. Expo offerings will include résumé and LinkedIn support, professional headshots, interview-ready wardrobe styling, and employer/internship booths representing more than 100 public and private sector organizations.\nThe Penny Games is a signature youth initiative of The Penny Foundation, a Birmingham-based nonprofit focused on equity through education, entrepreneurship, and community capital.
