BJCC approves agreement to keep Legacy Arena’s name for five more years

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex board today approved a five-year extension of its agreement with Legacy Credit Union for naming rights of the BJCC’s arena.

“We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Legacy Credit Union, and we are proud to preserve Legacy Arena’s name for another five years,” said Tad Snider, Executive Director & CEO of the BJCC.

“Under the Legacy name, our arena has hosted countless events that have created memorable experiences for fans while benefiting our community. Legacy Credit Union’s continued support plays an important role in that success.”

Legacy Credit Union has been the arena’s namesake since 2015.

The arena, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, has welcomed millions of guests and hosted many of the world’s biggest entertainers, championship sporting events, family shows, and community celebrations. Today, it continues to serve as one of the South’s premier destinations for live entertainment.

In 2020, the venue underwent an extensive interior and exterior modernization. The arena was closed during the $125 million project, reopening in 2021 with new seating, a 360-degree LED ribbon board, upgraded acoustics and lighting, expanded restrooms, new concession choices, escalators, and an open concourse with views of the city.
