BJCC Marks Month of Major Wins with Sold-Out NBA YoungBoy Show

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) is celebrating another major milestone following last night’s sold-out NBA YoungBoy performance at Legacy Arena. More than 11,000 fans filled the venue, enjoying a safe and memorable experience that further strengthened Birmingham’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class entertainment.

This success caps a remarkable month of high-profile events across BJCC venues. On October 11, Chris Brown: Breezy Bowl XX drew 35,000 fans to Protective Stadium for its first outdoor concert since Garth Brooks’ historic 2022 performance. Just days later, more than 12,000 basketball fans packed Legacy Arena for an NBA preseason matchup between the New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets.

BJCC President & CEO Tad Snider said the strong run of events underscores Birmingham’s growing momentum as a top-tier market for major live experiences.

“This series of sold-out and large-scale events demonstrates Birmingham’s ability to deliver concerts, sporting events, and entertainment experiences that rival any market in the country,” said Snider. “Each successful event builds confidence among promoters, artists, and fans that the BJCC provides safe, seamless, and exciting experiences—positioning us to attract even more major events to our city.”

The BJCC also extended its appreciation to local law enforcement and operations partners for their collaboration in making the NBA YoungBoy event a success.

“We want to thank the Birmingham Police Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Live Nation, and our BJCC team for their partnership and preparation leading up to the event,” said Snider. “And to the fans—thank you for following event guidelines and helping create a fun, safe, and unforgettable atmosphere. Nights like this truly highlight what makes Birmingham such a vibrant destination for live entertainment.”

In less than two weeks, BJCC venues welcomed over 74,000 guests for a diverse lineup of sold-out shows, community gatherings, and special performances including Rock Orchestra by Candlelight, MasterChef AllStars Live, UAB Blazers Football, Birmingham Legion FC, the Alabama Bridal & Wedding Expo, and Rock City Church’s Celebration.
